Two of my favorite songwriters: Don Henley and Prince. I’ve always loved the lyrics and message of Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry” (and it seems even more relevant now than ever!). One day when I was playing around with that song, Prince’s “Controversy” popped into my head, and I started inserting that line into “Dirty Laundry.” I’ve always wanted to do an official recording of this mashup, but obtaining the licensing rights to release a mashup might be a bit too much to overcome (at least until I figure it out!). til then, enjoy this live solo version 😉
